Brittany - that's a very good question. The short answer: it doesn't matter, you can change one or the other, or a combination of both. The more practical answer is that you may find it easiest to choose a medium aperture setting and then alter shutter speeds to make changes in exposure.

Whatever you do, make sure you record your settings on the sheet so we can discuss the relationship between what you chose, and what we see.
